Gwyn Pevonka was born in Zionsville, Indiana in 1989 and lived in the Midwest for much of her life before moving to Wilmington, North Carolina in 2002. Gwyn attended Appalachian State University in the fall of 2007 pursuing a BFA, and having a primary concentration in Painting. Throughout the next couple of years my work evolved from landscapes to the experimentation of paint as an object: from dripping, to preserving, layering, to bringing other elements from other studios into my work. Gwyn Pevonka is interested in the process of discovering and rediscovering the layers of paint. My work portrays the interconnectedness of all things. I will be graduating from Appalachian State University in Spring 2011, with a BFA in Painting.
